Hmm. I guess I'll start off by saying that I thought this would be an impossible task when I first started. Now, though, I'm really excited about two things I've already been able to accomplish through this challenge: 1) I actually started writing in at least one of my stories again after a 2-week writing draught, and 2) I have managed to extend my chapters' word counts by even more than usual (Yeah!). I've always wanted to find a way to help me make my chapters longer, so I'm particularly excited about point number two. The chapter I'm currently working on for "Deep in the Shadows", my original romance story, is up to 5000+ words and counting now (it's not finished yet, and I'd guess I'm about halfway through). I'm also surprised that I've nearly managed to keep up with the required 1200 words a day thing, so I'm glad about that, too. This is a long writing challenge so I'm sure this'll all change eventually, but, as the old saying goes, so far so good. Hopefully I'll be able to keep this up.
Now if only I could find the same drive to work on my Halo fanfic, too...
9/4/08 EDIT: I eventually decided to split up Ch. 16 into two chapters, because it was getting annoyingly long. The second half of the chapter (which will now be Ch. 17 and is close to getting wrapped up) will still be my longest so far, though.

So autumnwrite starts today, and I'm a creative mess. I wrote some in my original story yesterday but had to go back and edit a lot because it sounded all weird and uncohesive (you'll find I invent words when writing in my blog, too.) *cries* Also, my psych professor gave us uber homework over the 3-day weekend, so that's putting a big dent in my writing time (or, as it were, my editing time). And then my friends wanted to go out of town, too, so Saturday's pre-autumnwrite writing was blown to hell as well (the trip was awesome though). *sigh* At least I don't have work today.
Well, I'll keep this short because I have to get to actual story writing (and homework...doing?) Basically, I'm just not so sure my method of writing will function well with the point of autumnwrite. See, I pretty much write when I feel the crazy idea urge coming on and don't write when I've got nothing to say. That means that sometimes, I'll have a week of writing a TON of stuff, 'cause when the urge comes you HAVE to write, and then maybe a couple weeks where I don't open Microsoft Word at all. It all depends on my writing "mood" since I've found that if I force myself to write, it comes out all stupid.
But I wanted the challenge of autumnwrite, I wanted to be more like a dependable writer (i.e. someone who works on their stories regularly and not haphazardly like me), and I wanted the chance to try and finish up my Halo fanfiction (been working on it since late Feb), my original romance story (started in early May) , and this new idea I've got cooked up for NaNoWriMo (which I've also never done...oh boy). So yeah, I guess we'll see how it goes, and hopefully I can accomplish my goals. (I suddenly feel excited again, yay!)
All right, I'm done now. I wrote much more than I thought I would (wish I could apply that to my stories right about now) and I'm off to do some real writing/homework doing/life living. So peace out and if you're doing autumnwrite too, good luck. ;-)

So yeah, this is my first post, hehe. The last time I had a blog I was about 15 I think, so it'll take me a while to get back into the swing of things. Don't think I'll be that much more mature, though, lol. I still remember one of the posts I had on my old blog, where I was laughing my head off about someone mistakenly saying something about getting laid over the high school PA (yeah I know, I just killed it). xD
So just to warn you, I kind of like to disregard English rules concerning run-ons once I start blogging, so don't get your panties in a bunch. It's ok, I'm normally an English grammar/spelling/punctuation freak, too, but not here.
Enjoy the ramblings, rants, and randomness of a 19-year-old writer. ;-) Now I'm going to bed.
